Safiyyah Says; GLITTER.

OK, I know on Instagram I said I would not post anything due to exams but my minds gone blank. I can't even sleep or eat (how can I say no to food!!)  But I needed to rave about these cosmetic glitters that are super cheap and really top notch.

Hologram, Copper and Gold (left to right) glitter shakers from Stargazer retailing £3.00 each.
Fix Gel retailing £1.50 each, also from Stargazer

So the packaging is essential when investing in glitters because it can get very messy! The pots have a screw off lid with a sprinkle layer to stop glitter from spilling, which you can also take off which is perfect if you are going to use a lot. Fix Gel is probably a basic glitter glue to help keep these glitters to keep in place.

I would definitely would NOT recommend using lash glue on your eye lids other than for using for lashes. Your eye area is very delicate so invest in a glitter glue. Fix Glue is probably not the best ones you can find but it was cheap and cheerful.

I applied a thin coat of the glitter glue and added the glitters. This was with only one coat and you can definitely go over it again. If glitter gets onto any other parts of your body you can use a wipe to clean it up. (I was just super lazy and messy; I call it creativity)

Hologram is a white/ silver glitter with flexes of blues in flash photography. This is perfect for when you have to take pictures, your makeup will become alive.
Gold is your basic but classic gold.
Copper is my favourite out of them all due to the peach tones in flash photography with some flexes of silver. I think this one best suits my skin tone with keeping the drama to a certain level.

I really recommend these products for prom coming up if you are going to DIY. I can really imagine an Arabic cut crease using black or browns to blend. Or you can do one better and do +LOOKAMILLION glitter liner with a black smokey eye. I will definitely use this on clients for prom and also for other events. (Details bellow)

If you are doing makeup on yourself make sure you do your research and know what you want. Last minute looks may seem not thought about and may also clash with your dress. If your dress is a little plain its fine to make your makeup stand out a littler more. But if your dress is full with bling I'd keep it natural with perfecting your foundation (without making it look caked up), sculpting your face and add a nude lip. If your lips are bold tone down your eyes and if your eyes are bold tone down the lips. At the end of the day, what would I know. I'm not a makeup artist...

Gold and Pink - Client

My client was wearing a pink and gold outfit of a wedding she was attending. She didn't really know what she wanted but trusted me to create something. So this is what I came up with! Makeup, hair and scarf setting done by me. Enjoy.

#nomakeup

Haha tricked you.
So in my spare time I do stuff like this. I actually like it. I made a bum chin and who doesn't like glittery eyebrows!

Makeup is deceiving...
You can drop ten pounds, remove a blemish and change your face structure. It only enhances the natural beauty that you have inside and out. For many, makeup is a confidence boost. It can really make you feel you can take on the world. But without it why should it be any less. True beauty comes from your personality. You must have heard the saying 'no amount of makeup can cover an ugly personality'. And I know I might be a total hypocrite as you may think I'm a cow. At the end of the day, if it what makes you feel happy and full of joy then why care what people think of you. In terms of makeup, if it doesn't make you feel comfortable or happy they you wouldn't want to put it on. So be yourself and if that means wearing all the makeup you can put on then so be it.

You may think I'm saying one thing like no makeup then saying wears tons of it. It’s not under my control in telling you if it’s right and wrong. Like its no ones right to judge but we all do it.

So guys I know I went a little serious but truth be told I'm going to start my period so I'm typing this while eating a whole tub of Ben and jerry’s and watching chick flixs on Netflix’s. Don't you just love my honesty?

Arabian Nights!

My client had a look in mind that she wanted me to recreate for today’s event with the theme Arabian nights. I did the the full package of hair, makeup and tikka setting for a look perfect for a Mendhi.

A step by step guide to create your own skull face.

Yes, I knew Halloween was over when I created this look (a while back) but I'm Pakistani, we are always late!
Video of final look at the end.

So first you need to create your outline. I used a random image on Google images to help me out.

This step is optional. Add white contacts to make the whole look more realistic. Ignore the redness on my face, it was a struggle to put these contacts on. Also ignore the mess, for everyone who knows me, they know my rooms a tip yard.

Add black to deepen parts of your face. Add cracks and tones to your skull face by blending parts out.

Add white for parts you want to highlight. This would be the teeth and parts of the forehead that you want to be pushed forward. The same concept is used for contouring and highlighting.

Add the white to your face lightly. Ideally you might want to do this first but I'm backward like that.

Add more black to deepen parts of your skull up. This bit was the hardest because sometimes I'm a perfectionist.

Remember to blend! Blend is your friend!!

Outline your teeth and after blend the outside of the outline which I haven't done in this photo.

Your final look should look something like this :)
